the challenge
A full-service flagship hotel and conference operation in a major Canadian city, part of the world's largest hotel chain by room count, had no AI training, policy, data governance or sanctioned tooling. Staff were using AI tools anyway, with guest and business information. Sales reps put their day at 70% admin and 30% selling, and only one person had a paid AI seat.
what they built
North Group spent a week on site. Sales and leadership got multi-day group sessions on AI literacy and acceptable use, and the rest of the property got multi-day one-on-one coaching built on their daily tasks. North Group wrote and published an internal AI policy with the hotel and rolled out an AI team plan property-wide. No software was built.
The engagement ran as one concentrated week on site. Sales and leadership went first with multi-day group sessions on AI literacy and acceptable use, including what guest and business information can and can't go into a tool. The rest of the property got multi-day one-on-one coaching, done over the shoulder on each person's daily tasks so the training stuck to real work. In parallel, North Group wrote an internal AI policy with the hotel's leadership and published it to staff. An AI team plan replaced individual accounts, moving the sales team from one paid seat to everyone on a sanctioned plan. Results were captured as team estimates before and after the week.
